HANDMADE IN ECUADOR
The paja toquilla hat is woven with fibers of a particular palm tree that grows on the Ecuatorian coast. After harvesting the fiber the agricultors bleach it, boiling it first and then drying it with wood coal and sulfur. With this raw material they handcraft each hat using an extra fine weave. This technique results in a hat with a very particular color and weave.
